JAKARTA – Ivan Gunawan recently expressed his opinion regarding the boycott of his best friend, Ayu Ting Ting. After Ayu’s parents visited the haters’ residence some time ago, suddenly a petition that was approved by more than 13,000 people banned the Geboy Mujaer singer from appearing on television again.

In response to this, the man who is familiarly called Igun looks quite annoyed. He even said that he was unmitigated to dismiss his household assistant, if caught playing social media and blaspheming others.

“Are you boycotting? Are you ready? That’s how the haters are for the helpers again. I can’t imagine if there is a maid in my house who likes to play social media, I fired,” said Igun in his Live Instagram some time ago.

Mind-blowing. And frankly incredible. Italy succeed Jamaica in the 4x100m relay list! Yes, you read that right. No one would have bet on such a feat just a few weeks ago. But it was clearly written that the sprint was going to bear the transalpine seal in Tokyo. A few days after the thunderous victory of Marcell Jacobs in the 100m, the Italians thus doubled the bet by going up to Great Britain in a last insane straight line to prevail on the wire.

In 37”50, Lorenzo Patta, Lamont Marcell Jacobs, Eseosa Fostine Desalu and Filippo Tortu were looking for an Olympic title. Their first gold medal at the Games in this 4×100 m relay. Their first Olympic charm since 1948! Another era. To indulge in this waking dream, they overtook the British (37”51) by one cent and Canada de Andre de Grasse (37”70). Italian athletics thus continues its beautiful harvest with 5 Olympic titles, as many as the United States for now, after the high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi, the walkers Antonella Palmisiano and Massimo Stano (both 20 km) and therefore their flagship sprinter Lamont Marcell Jacobs.

De Grasse wins bronze

A few weeks after watching the Italians ruin their dreams at Wembley in the Euro 2020 final, the Brits were again frustrated by the Azzurri. In the wake of his coronation, Marcell Jacobs was invaluable in replacing Italy in the second stint. But Filippo Tortu also has a big part in this coronation from elsewhere. Second when picking up the baton, the first Italian to go under 10 seconds (in June 2018 in 9”99) signed a grandiose straight line to catch up with Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and jump him over the line.

In the absence of the United States which did not pass the playoffs, the British take a small slap with this silver medal. Behind and as the Japanese Olympic vice-champions missed their second transmission, Canada can say thank you to Andre de Grasse. On the last relay, the Olympic champion in the 200m overcame two competitors (China and Jamaica). And he thus offers himself his third medal in Japan after the bronze in the 100m and the title in the 200m, his sixth Olympic medal in total at just 26 years old.

All French Ligue 1 clubs have at least one African footballer in their squad. Some will discover the championship, either because they played last season in Ligue 2, or because they come from abroad. Others, after a promising 2020-2021 fiscal year, will have to confirm.

Moroccan Achraf Hakimi in Paris

Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi (left) during a match against Lille in Tel Aviv on August 1, 2021.

He’s only 22, but his CV says a lot about his potential. Born in Madrid (he has dual Spanish and Moroccan nationality) and trained at Real, where a certain Zinedine Zidane made him start in La Liga in October 2017, Achraf Hakimi was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, one of the best German clubs (2018 -2020), then transferred to Inter Milan in July 2020 for 40 million euros. Despite an Italian league title, the Moroccan international agreed to join Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG), who did not hesitate to pay 60 million euros excluding bonus (11 million euros) for to engage the services of the Lion of the Atlas. The very offensive profile of this right-back defender, also capable of playing in the middle, seduced the Parisian leaders. His first performances with PSG were conclusive.

Guinean Mohamed Bayo in Clermont-Ferrand

Guinean striker Mohamed Bayo (center) during a match against Sochaux, in Clermont-Ferrand, on May 8, 2021.

Few people knew Mohamed Bayo a year ago. The Guinean striker was returning from a loan in Dunkirk (National 1) and there was nothing to suggest that he would have an amazing 2020-2021 season with Clermont Foot, his training club. Top scorer in Ligue 2 with 22 goals (plus seven assists), the 23-year-old has greatly contributed to the historic accession of the Auvergne team to Ligue 1. Obviously, his performance did not leave some more upscale clubs indifferent. . Bordeaux and Lille would like to recruit him, but the Clermont leaders do not wish for the moment to transfer their offensive nugget. Mohamed Bayo will be one of the main assets of the Guinean team, the Syli National, at the next African Cup of Nations (CAN), in Cameroon in 2022.

Nigerian Terem Moffi in Lorient

Nigerian striker Terem Moffi (left) during a match against Strasbourg, at La Meinau stadium, on May 23, 2021.

In October 2020, the arrival in Ligue 1 of Nigerian striker Terem Moffi, 22, had gone almost unnoticed despite the size of the sum (8 million euros) paid by FC Lorient. Recruited in Kortrijk (Belgium) after a little more than two seasons in the anonymity of the Lithuanian championship, Terem Moffi was able to find the arguments to make himself known. The Breton club, which fought to the end to keep its place in Ligue 1, knows what it owes to its player, author of fifteen goals – some of which were decisive – against PSG and Bordeaux. Its market value is now over 10 million euros, but Lorient does not intend to part with one of the revelations of last season. His performances also opened the doors of the Nigerian selection in June, against Cameroon in friendly matches (0-1, 0-0).

Senegalese Ahmadou Dieng in Marseille

Senegalese forward Ahmadou Dieng (right) during a game against Sporting Braga, Portugal, July 21, 2021.

Ahmadou Dieng, 21, will undoubtedly be one of the players to watch this season. Olympique de Marseille (OM) believes in him and has proven it by lifting the option to purchase this striker from the Senegalese club Diambars, known as one of the most formative in Africa. Seen several times in Ligue 1 and in the Coupe de France – a competition that allowed him to score his first goal on the hexagonal grounds, in February, against Auxerre -, Ahmadou Dieng will first seek to obtain playing time more consistent and continue to get tougher. The Argentine coach of OM, the bubbling Jorge Sampaoli, seems to appreciate this player who arrived very discreetly in Marseille, where he had first played with the B team (National 2) before gradually joining the professional group.

Algerian Hicham Boudaoui in Nice

Algerian midfielder Hicham Boudaoui (left) during a match against Marseille, at the Stade Vélodrome, on February 17, 2021.

Since his arrival in Nice in September 2019, Hicham Boudaoui, 21, has continued to assert himself as a good player in the French championship. His playing time, initially modest in his first season, has increased significantly in 2020-2021. The Algerian defensive midfielder, African champion with the Fennecs in Cairo two years ago, has matured and the new Nice coach, Christophe Galtier, French champion with Lille, appreciates him. He is one of the few players trained in Algeria to play in Europe, like his teammate Youcef Atal, who preceded him by a little over a year on the Côte d’Azur.

The Meeting de Deauville Barrière began on Tuesday August 3, 2021, at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse. The public can watch the start of the races from the starting stalls.

the Meeting of Deauville Barrière started Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse (Calvados). Throughout August, the public can watch the races kick off from the starting stalls. Ten minutes of spectacle under high tension. Reportage.

“On the screen it’s one thing, but when you’re going to be right next to the stalls, you’ll hear the noises, feel other emotions: it’s something else, it has nothing to do with it”. For the start of this race, on the launch day of the Meeting de Deauville Barrière, our guide is Eric Press, starter of the race.

Eric Presse, starter of the race.
Eric Presse, starter of the race.

We move away from the stands where the spectators, well seated, scrutinize the starting line from afar: towards the stalls, these compartments in which the horses come to stand before the start of the race.

It is 1:40 pm, the start will be given in 10 minutes and, near these starting “boxes”, life is not lacking. A final test verifies that the stall locking and unlocking system is operational. “It’s important because everything is connected,” insists the starter. In fact, the trigger button placed in a small box, at the top of the stepladder where Eric Presse will be installed, depends on the opening of the stalls which triggers the stopwatch. In short, everything must be ready and everything working, to ensure that the start of the race goes smoothly.

Shooters and pushers

It is 13:43, horses and jockeys approach the stalls. For this 1,300-meter speed race, they will be sixteen starters.

To welcome the riders, a team of ten people is getting ready, because getting the horses into the stalls is an art that cannot be improvised. It requires method, calm and complicity. On the one hand, there are six ” shooters “, Protected by a helmet, which hold” the horses on the side of the head “. Eric Presse specifies: “each fencer does not choose his horse, they each have their rope number, the organization is well established”. They are supported by four ” pushers », The shins well protected, whose mission is to push the recalcitrant horses which would refuse to settle in these starting boxes. “When you see the narrowness of the stalls, you understand better why some horses are not very happy to enter,” comments Eric Presse. Indeed, there is not much room and, once the equines have entered, the stalls are immediately closed.

Depending on the frames, we adapt to the time needed to fit them into the compartments, explains the starter. When you know horses, it’s fine, even complicated horses you know how to manage them. On the other hand, when we have new horses, we will take extra time.

Eric Press

Each horse has its own little quirk, its own character trait that must be understood so that everything goes well “and so that the teams take the minimum of risks”.

Fortunately, mounts and jockeys will only stay locked in the stalls for a short time. It is 1:50 pm The starter climbs onto his stepladder, red flag in hand. “Careful,” he shouts. The silence is heavy, until the metallic click of the opening of the starting stalls. The silence is broken. The horses then set off on the fiber track which seems to vibrate, and leave the field of our gaze in a few seconds. Everything is going very fast. Eric Presse warned us, the show is not the same. The emotions felt either.

Famous singles will participate in this show.

The Dating Game is a cult American dating show across the Atlantic. It was created in the 60s, it has known several lives and it has also made children around the world: in France, it inspired the no less mythical Turn carousel!. Disappeared from the antenna for more than 20 years, The Dating Game will nevertheless make its return on the small American screen.

“The Celebrity Dating Game” : une version VIP

Nerdy? Perhaps. But this new version looks promising because the candidates in search of love will be “celebrities” … Here it is renamed The Celebrity Dating Game. And we do not change a concept that has proven itself, there will be just a twist: separated by a partition, three anonymous pretenders will answer the questions of a famous bachelor – including identity will remain secret. There are clues that will allow them to try to identify it. Yes, we are between Turn merry-go-round and Mask Singer !

Note, however, that personalities had already had the opportunity to participate in the original show, either as anonymous or as guest-stars (like Arnold Schwarzenegger – Mr. Universe – or Michael Jackson, still a teenager).

The Celebrity Dating Game “: we want the same in France!

The Celebrity Dating Game will be hosted by an original duo: the crooner Michael Bolton and the actress Zooey Deschanel (New Girl). 8 episodes are planned but for the moment, we do not know the names of the singles who have been selected (Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron? Yes, we are probably dreaming). We already hope that French producers will have the good idea to take up this idea in their turn …

The Nigerian Air Force has announced that it has killed at least 78 members of criminal groups, dubbed « bandits » by the authorities during air strikes against their camps in the north-west of the country.

“In a coordinated attack, more than 78 bandits were neutralized and their camps destroyed”Air Force spokesman Commander Edward Gabkwet said in a statement released Thursday evening August 5. “On August 2, 2021, the Nigerian Air Force located bandits on motorcycles moving through the Kwuambana forest. [dans l’Etat de Zamfara] », adds the press release.

Northwest and central Nigeria have been victims for several years of criminal gangs that attack, loot and kidnap villagers, stealing their livestock and burning their homes. The Nigerian army has recently deployed new means, including fighter jets, to put an end to the violence of these « bandits », who have also been converted in recent months into the mass kidnapping of schoolchildren or high school students for ransom.

The violence of these criminal gangs has left more than 8,000 dead, according to a report by the International Crisis Group (ICG) think tank published in May 2020. The criminals are known to take shelter in the wooded areas of the Rugu forest, which extends over the states of Niger, Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara. The attackers are initially motivated by greed, even if some bandits have pledged allegiance to jihadist groups present in northeastern Nigeria, hundreds of kilometers away.

President Muhammadu Buhari, a former army general in power since 2015, faces mounting criticism for his inability to provide security in Africa’s most populous country, beset by unrest .

“Apple Music is making its biggest breakthrough ever in terms of sound quality” explains the vice president of Apple Music to present this new version.

It’s official ! After weeks of intense rumors about a new HiFi offer for Apple Music, the Cupertino company has just made it official on its website. This new offer is not really one. Rather, the basic package is evolving and will now offer high fidelity sound and other new features. This new version of Apple Music will be available in June for the same price, or € 9.99 for a single person.

Dolby Atmos, audio spatial et son HiFi

Audiophiles should appreciate. Apple Music will soon offer a large number of new features, including Dolby Atmos, which will be available from the outset on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as on the built-in speakers of the latest versions of iPhone , iPad and Mac

We also note the arrival of spatial audio, landed with AirPods Pro and also offered with AirPods Max on compatible content. We can now enjoy it on several thousand titles available on Apple Music. It will obviously be necessary to acquire a compatible device, such as, precisely, the first headphones from Apple, the launch of which was ultimately not so trivial.

But the great novelty of Apple Music is precisely this high-fidelity sound, without loss of quality, which can be enjoyed on nearly 75 million songs available on the service, and not only with AirPods Pro or AirPods. Max! For this, Apple uses the ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) format in 16 bits and 44.1 kHz – that is, a quality equivalent to CD – and even beyond, up to 24 bits 48 kHz. For the more audiophiles among you, Apple Music will also offer high-resolution lossless sound up to 24-bit 192 kHz with a DAC. In the information communicated, Apple does not indicate if this codec will be supported in Bluetooth, but we imagine that the wire will still be privileged to take full advantage of it.

All these new features will land in June 2021 for all Apple Music subscribers and those to come at no additional cost.

The Rt contagion index in Italy is a 1,56 while the incidence of Coronavirus cases each 100mila inhabitants arrive at altitude 68. The data coming from the new weekly monitoring of the Higher Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health. A situation in slow growth also confirmed by the president of the ISS Silvio Brusaferro who during the press conference for the dissemination of the report explained: «The curve in Italy is growing, the sign of slow recovery comes from many regions. A more limited growth than in the previous weeks, but which continues to affect the age group 10-29, registering 5mil municipalities with at least one positive case “.

On the value of the Rt index, the curve is confirmed rather stable compared to last week, when it was recorded at 1.57. On the other hand, the incidence of cases that had been detected seven days ago has slightly increased 58 for every 100 thousand inhabitants. The two values respectively mark the replicability of the infection and the circulation of the virus: together with the occupancy values of the hospital wards, they are key indicators for decisions on containment measures and therefore on the colors of the individual regions. Monitoring signals a slight increase in hospitalizations and intensive care and defines the Delta variant as largely prevalent in Italy.

“Growing hospitalizations and dominant Delta”

According to what was reported by the ISS monitoring this week all the Regions and autonomous provinces are a moderate risk. None currently exceeds the critical threshold of hospitalizations and intensive care but the employment rate in resuscitation is slightly increasing, reaching 3%. The number of hospitalized people grows from 189 (27/07/2021) a 258 (03/08/2021). While for the medical areas we speak of 4% of occupied beds: from 1.611 people of the July 27 last at 2.196 of the August 3. “The Delta variant is dominant,” Brusaferro continues to explain, “and is hitting all the Regions and autonomous provinces in the last 45 days, starting to be almost exclusive.” Hence the consequence on hospital pressure: “In this phase the impact on hospitalizations is growing even if for now under control”. Delta’s diffusion rate is currently at85,66%.

Vaccines: the total number of over 60s has not yet been reached

On the vaccine front, the report still indicates a difficulty in responding by one of the most fragile categories of the population: the 16/17% of the over 60s are without even a dose of Covid vaccine. “Instead, it is better for young people”, Brusaferro says, “who massively adhere to the vaccination campaign and for young adults.” According to ISS data, the category 20-29 has so far been vaccinated for 64%, in the range 30-39 for the 60%.

Appeal to students

In anticipation of the reopening of schools for mid-September, the president of the Higher Institute of Health then appealed to all students, youngsters for whom the obligation of the Green pass will not be valid, unlike teachers and Ata staff. . «The hope is that all the school population in the recommended age groups can be vaccinated with a full cycle. This is our appeal because vaccination is the most effective tool also for this segment of the population ».

In the twilight of the Mosul Museum in Iraq, natural light making its way to the ground illuminates fragments of monumental Assyrian sculptures dating back nearly 3,000 years, scattered around a gaping hole. They were smashed in 2015 by members of the Islamic State organization during the occupation of the city, where a “caliphate” was proclaimed in June 2014.

It wasn’t until three years later, shortly after Daesh was driven out by US-backed Iraqi forces, that Zaid Ghazi first returned to his museum. The shock is immense, commensurate with the extent of the damage. “Daesh wanted to destroy the culture, the identity of the city”, explains the director, during our visit at the end of May.

In addition to the sacked Assyrian section, 25,000 books in the library were burned and the Islamic art room was emptied of its objects, sold by the armed group on the black market. But, with the mission of a group of experts sent by the Louvre in June, Zaid Ghazi can finally foresee the departure of a “True restoration program” of all these destroyed works.

International aid

Founded in 1952, the museum, which displays thousands of years of Iraqi history in four exhibition halls, has since been secured and repairs have been undertaken, including on the roof, which was hit by mortar fire. . But still in poor condition, the museum remains closed to the public today, even if it has been able to reopen its doors for a few artistic events since 2019.

Its director since 2004, specialist in stone conservation, is driven by vital energy. “It is crucial to rebuild the museum, because it is a legacy that represents Mosul through time. It is a mirror of our history ”, says Zaid Ghazi, who estimates that the work will take at least five years. Iraqi teams can now count on the help of international support, including the Louvre Museum and the Smithsonian, an American scientific research institution associated with 19 museums.

The two institutions have come together in the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (Aliph), which initiated a reconstruction project at the request of the Iraqi government by releasing an amount of 1.3 million euros. dollars (about one million euros).
