Civility and Tolerance

You be civil, while we spew hatred. We will call evil good and you tolerate it.

Michele Malkin said it very well in her column today…”They told us if Barack Obama were elected, the nation would come together. Souls would be fixed. Spirits would be healed. Public discourse would be elevated. Welcome to civility and tolerance in the Age of Obama:

* Celebrity leech/trash blogger Perez Hilton took to the Internet and TV airwaves to humiliate a beauty pageant contestant who gave what he considered an “offensive” answer about gay marriage.

    1 in 2.5 is a lot.

  21. Brandon says:

Does the .5 person have a half of an abortion?

  22. lisab says:

this would seem to be less than 1 in 2.5

“From 1967 to September 2008, approximately 50,200,000 abortions occurred in the United States; of these, about 30,260,000 or 60% were to women with no prior abortions [1,2]. In other words, 30,260,000 different women had one or more abortions from 1967 to the present in the U.S.”

Regarding the original post by the blogger, let’s hope that we’re going through some painful leveling and soon we’ll all be phsychologically on the same level with no monopoly on victimhood.

Let one side attack without responding in kind. Gain respect that was lost, sorry folks, lost for the Rs (among the infractions: the last administration called for a $700 billion bank bailout that was subsequently used for spa junkets.)

2010 could be a wildly successful year for Rs, but not if Rs look extremist. Independents want fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, and stop telling others how to live according to your values. If they burn in Hell, that’s between them and God. Don’t legislate morality and stop sleeping with every flea-bitten STD infected business that struts by with a cheap price tag hanging from hole-ridden fishnets. Man, if that’s not hypocritical…

    Hmmm…

no one spoke of spirits being healed or souls being fixed. Those were words from the right trying to call Obama the messiah.

But Obama did run on elevating public discourse, and he is. Unfortunately, every time he extends his hand to the right, the right bites.

So, correct, so much for civility.

And it is impossible to measure “coming together” on such a general level. Coming together on which issue?

    Think about it.

  28. jones says:

On Perez Hilton, is he an example of that tolerence I keep hearing about? Maybe he needs a coexist bumper sticker.

  29. Tim says:

Michelle Malkin is lecturing anyone about civility?

    LMAO

  30. Michael says:

Bonn – you are so full of it. Obama is a total political animal with a messianic complex who is dividing this country is a way never seen before…all for his own ego. but go ahead and keep wearing those rose-tinted glasses.

  31. jason says:

“But Obama did run on elevating public discourse, and he is. Unfortunately, every time he extends his hand to the right, the right bites”

What horse crap. Obama’s administration has the most partisan demeanor ever, full of attack dogs, starting with Gibbs and other assorted hired guns. Conservatives are “extremists” ready to “commit acts of violence” in the U.S. Tea partiers are racist rednecks. Obama has no interest in elevating discourse, he has an interest in his socialist agenda, and if he has to look and act like Hugo Chavez that is fine with him.

  32. jason says:

“Michelle Malkin is lecturing anyone about civility?”

She is Mother Teresa compared to Olbermann and Mathews and Maddow and the rest of the partisan hacks who pass themselves off as “mainstream press”.
